WHERE IT ALL BEGAN – Starting with a meager 23-gallon copper still and a dream, second generation Irish-American cousins Tom Murray, Mike and Jim Larkin, along with a small team of friends and family, set out to create a legacy. Drawing on each other’s professional backgrounds, and skill sets, the team began distilling high-quality, small-batch spirits. Distilled to perfection, packaged with pride and delivered with cheer, MurLarkey embodies the Irish heritage, culture and love for life upon which it was founded.
Counting these guys as friends, from long-ago business relationships of days gone by, it has been a true pleasure to see them making their mark in the spirits world with their amazing creations.
Last year, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, MurLarkey was able to respond to requests to support their community by turning their distillery into a hand sanitizer manufacturing facility.
I reached out to them to share their story and arranged for an interview with Jen Richer of iHeart Media’s WONK-FM in Washington, DC – not far from the home of MurLarkey in Bristow, Virginia.
